SUMMARY
This course on employer compliance will equip immigration lawyers and consultants with the essential knowledge and skills to advise businesses effectively on navigating the complexities of immigration regulations. This course will provide practitioners with detailed information so that they can advise employers on their obligations to foreign workers and get updated on Canada’s ever-changing immigration laws. Practitioners will learn how to proactively identify potential areas of non-compliance and guide employers in implementing robust internal policies to mitigate risks.
The seminar will include case studies to solidify understanding and allow practitioners to apply their learning. This will allow them to confidently advise employers on building and maintaining compliant workplaces, including proper wage payments, adherence to working conditions, and meticulous record-keeping practices. Furthermore, the seminar will address the ethical responsibilities of immigration practitioners in ensuring employers uphold their obligations under immigration law and avoid exploitation of vulnerable foreign workers
Ultimately, this CPD will provide a comprehensive understanding of employer responsibilities that ultimately contribute to protecting the rights of foreign workers while ensuring that businesses operate within the boundaries of Canadian immigration law, avoiding costly penalties and reputational damage. This, in turn, strengthens the integrity and effectiveness of Canada’s immigration programs.
