SUMMARY
Managing difficult conversations, conflict and the behaviours that accompany these hard conversations in the workplace can be one of the most challenging aspects of Human Resources Management.
In this course, we will review the key aspects of navigating difficult conversations and conflict. First, we will understand the difference between behaviour management, performance management, and conflict. Often because these conversations are uncomfortable people mistake performance issues or providing feedback as being conflict.
We’ll dive deep into the essential skills for navigating conflict including dealing with power imbalances, resistance and steps to de-escalating emotions. The course will also introduce a 5-step interest-based conflict management roadmap, the 5 styles of conflict responses and strategies to support HR professionals so they can help leaders by providing conflict coaching. Often HR professionals are brought into the conflict resolution process with the parties, we will also explore the fundamentals for leaders and HR professionals as conflict management facilitators or mediators.
