Canada plans to raise the immigration targets for francophone immigrants settling outside of Quebec

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held its latest Express Entry draw for French language proficiency candidates, inviting 6,000 applicants to apply for permanent residence. This was Round #376 under the category-based selection system, focused on Francophone immigration.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) was 416, which is 16 points lower than the previous draw in this category. The tie-breaking rule for this round was September 8, 2025, at 15:27:09 UTC, meaning candidates who met the cut-off score and submitted their Express Entry profiles before that date and time received invitations.

So far in 2025, Canada has issued 81,485 ITAs across 46 Express Entry draws, with 36,000 invitations going to Francophone candidates — reflecting Canada’s continued commitment to supporting French-speaking immigration outside Quebec and strengthening linguistic diversity across the country.
