On June 15, 2023, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) introduced a temporary policy that will allow eligible Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) holders to apply for an additional open work permit valid for up to 18 months. All applications must be received between April 6 and December 31, 2023, and their PGWPs have expired or will expire between September 20, 2021 and December 31, 2023. These instructions will guide the issuance of the Additional Open Work Permit during the policy’s effective period.
