Major changes in Canada’s 2025 International Experience Program

Growing arrows shifting to declining crisis arrows on financial graph. Economic downturn and market volatility.

The 2025 International Experience Canada (IEC) quotas reveal both notable expansions and reductions across participating countries. Despite earlier concerns about potential cuts to temporary worker programs, the IEC has largely maintained its structure. However, some countries face substantial quota reductions, with Ireland experiencing the most dramatic decrease from 10,500 to 3,800 spots in the Working Holiday category. Meanwhile, South Korea remains the leading contributor with 10,000 Working Holiday spots, though this represents a slight decrease from the previous year. Australia and Finland stand out because they do not limit the number of participants across all three IEC streams. Some countries, such as Germany, Japan, the Czech Republic and Chile, are still waiting on their quota.
