The Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP) has officially closed its 2025 intake after receiving enough applications to meet its Government of Canada–allocated nomination cap of 300.
Application Status
Applicants will be notified by email confirming whether their submissions will be assessed or withdrawn. The program will reopen in 2026, with further details to be announced at a later date.
Options for Employers
Employers seeking to address labour shortages may explore other federal economic immigration pathways, including:
- The Temporary Foreign Worker Program
- The Francophone Mobility Program
Although the 2025 allocation for the Employer-Driven Stream and Francophone Stream has been filled, the Government of the Northwest Territories continues to accept applications for the Business Stream.
Why the NTNP Matters
The NTNP remains an important tool to support labour needs across the territory. It helps retain workers already contributing to local communities and fills critical roles in:
- Health care
- Child care
- Hospitality
- Other sectors facing persistent shortages where local labour is limited
