On March 25, 2026, the Government of Ontario conducted a new series of invitation draws under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), targeting candidates through three streams of the Employer Job Offer category.
What Happened
The province issued invitations to apply (ITAs) under the following streams:
- Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream (EJO FW)
- Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream (EJO IS)
- Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream (EJO IDS)
The draws were region-specific, with candidates targeted across five areas of Ontario: Eastern Ontario, Northern Ontario, Southwestern Ontario, Central Ontario (excluding the GTA), and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
In total, Ontario issued 1,112 ITAs across all five regional draws on March 25, 2026. With these draws, the province has now issued invitations to 5,584 candidates in 2026 under the Employer Job Offer streams.
Who Was Targeted
Each draw focused on candidates currently residing in Canada with a valid work or study permit and a job offer from an employer located within the designated region. The stream a candidate is invited under depends on their background and region:
- The EJO FW Stream is for experienced skilled workers with a qualifying job offer from an Ontario employer.
- The EJO IS Stream is for international graduates from eligible Canadian institutions who have received a job offer in Ontario.
- The EJO IDS Stream is for candidates working in occupations that address critical labour market needs in Ontario.
Important Deadlines
Candidates who received an ITA on March 25, 2026, should note that eligible profiles must have been created and attested to by March 23, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Once an ITA is issued, the employer must submit the application for the approval of an employment position within 14 calendar days. Candidates must then submit their own application and payment within 17 calendar days of receiving the invitation.
Applications are submitted through the OINP e-Filing Portal. Candidates can log in and locate the newly created file number with the prefix JOXX to begin their application.
Looking Ahead
Ontario received 14,119 nomination slots from the federal government for 2026, representing a significant increase from 2025. The province has also announced upcoming regulatory changes to the OINP structure, including a proposed consolidation of the three Employer Job Offer streams into a single unified stream. Practitioners and candidates should monitor the 2026 OINP Updates page regularly for the latest announcements.
