In a recent announcement, Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), provided an update on the ongoing IRCC strike. He emphasized that this strike would severely impact processing times and cause setbacks in dealing with backlogs. The strike will affect many services, including citizenship events, consular passport and citizenship services, access to information and privacy (ATIP), applications for extension of your stay in Canada, grant services, immigration appointments, passport application processing, etc. As the strike will significantly reduce the capacity of the IRCC, applicants should expect delays in the processing of their applications.
