Canada’s Express Entry pool is showing signs of reduced competition at the highest score levels for the second consecutive month.

Between January 4 and February 2, more than 6,200 profiles with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores above 501 exited the Express Entry system. This resulted in a 29% decrease in the 501–600 CRS score range alone.

Changes in the Express Entry Pool

While high-scoring profiles declined, the overall Express Entry pool increased by 2,366 candidates during the same period. Despite this growth, the notable reduction among top-tier profiles indicates fewer candidates occupying the highest CRS rankings.

Impact on Invitation Prospects

The decrease in high-scoring applicants suggests improving prospects for mid-range candidates seeking invitations for permanent residence. Immigration experts note that with fewer top-tier candidates in the pool, candidates with lower CRS scores may benefit during future invitation rounds.
