Over the past month, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held new draws in the International Experience Canada (IEC) pools. From March 25 to May 2, Canada invited 20,617 young foreigners to apply for an IEC open work permit. As of May 2, 26,071 candidates were registered in the pool and waiting for the invitation. Canada issued 2 ITAs for Andorra, 1,744 ITAs for Australia, 74 ITAs for Austria, 229 ITAs for Belgium, 467 ITAs for Chile, 75 ITAs for Costa Rica, 14 ITAs for Croatia, 216 ITAs for the Czech Republic, 71 ITAs for Denmark, 31 ITAs for Estonia, 28 ITAs for Finland, 4,608 ITAs for France, 981 ITAs for Germany, 46 ITAs for Greece, 37 ITAs for Hong Kong, 3 ITAs for Iceland, 982 ITAs for Ireland, 536 ITAs for Italy, 1,291 ITAs for Japan, 2,807 ITAs for Korea, 26 ITAs for Latvia, 44 ITAs for Lithuania, 8 ITAs for Luxembourg, 201 ITAs for the Netherlands, 481 ITAs for New Zealand, 53 ITAs for Norway, 136 ITAs for Poland, 152 ITAs for Portugal, 66 ITAs for Slovakia, 10 ITAs for Slovenia, 543 ITAs for Spain, 81 ITAs for Sweden, 65 ITAs for Switzerland, 889 ITAs for Taiwan, and 3,630 ITAs for the United Kingdom. In 2025, Canada issued 65,267 ITAs under the IEC Program.
