Nova Scotia Immigration Priorities for 2025

Nova Scotia has updated its immigration priorities for 2025 due to a high volume of applications. The province will now prioritize current residents with expiring work permits, especially those working in healthcare, social assistance, and construction.

For applicants outside Canada, only those in key sectors—trucking, science and technology, clean energy, and resource development—will be considered. There are limited exceptions for employers in the Atlantic Immigration Program that are hiring for essential roles in these areas.

Nova Scotia will start planning for 2026 once federal allocation numbers are released.
