On September 3, 2025, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) released updated processing times for Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) applications across all streams.
Based on data from all Canadian processing centres, the average LMIA processing times have seen slight increases or remained stable, with the exception of the Global Talent Stream. Current estimates are:
- Global Talent Stream: 8 business days (-1 day)
- Agricultural Stream: 16 business days (+2 days)
- Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP): 8 business days (+1 day)
- Permanent Residence Stream: 259 business days (+5 days)
- High-Wage Stream: 37 business days (no change)
- Low-Wage Stream: 42 business days (+1 day)
