This course provides a comprehensive overview of the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) across the four Atlantic Provinces—Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador. Focusing on Express Entry–aligned pathways, Skilled Worker streams, and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP), the session equips practitioners to assess eligibility, understand provincial requirements, and advise clients on navigating these increasingly competitive programs. Participants will gain insight into provincial processes such as employer registration, representative rules, recruiter licensing, and program integrity measures, along with practical steps to obtain or maintain worker status once nominated. This is an essential update for practitioners assisting foreign workers seeking permanent residence through Atlantic Canada’s immigration pathways.

Immigration Lawyer
Meghan is an immigration lawyer in St. John’s. She represents clients on a variety of Canadian immigration issues, ranging from individuals seeking temporary resident visas, study permits, work permits and permanent residency, to large corporations seeking labour market impact assessments and work permits to hire foreign workers. Meghan has extensive experience with obtaining work permits under the International Mobility Program and other international agreements, including CUSMA, CETA and GATS.
Meghan is a member of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Canadian Bar Association. She is the current Chair of the CBA-NL Citizenship and Immigration Section, where she also participates in submission drafting and editing in conjunction with the CBA for new developments in immigration law. In addition to her daily practice, Meghan is involved with the firm’s pro bono program, offering immigration legal services to individuals in need.
Well respected in her practice area, Meghan frequently writes legal knowledge pieces on new developments in immigration legislation and policy, and regularly provides updates for the Atlantic Province chapters of Thomson Reuters® Practical Guide to Provincial Nominee Programs in Canadian Immigration Law. Meghan is ranked in the Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory.

Morganne is the Office Lead Partner of McInnes Cooper’s Saint John, New Brunswick office and the lead of the firmwide Immigration Law practice group. She is the current Chair of the New Brunswick CBA Immigration Section. Her practice specializes in corporate immigration law. She represents individual and corporate clients with respect to a broad range of immigration matters including applications for temporary resident visas, study permits, and work permits; as well as applications for Canadian permanent residency and citizenship. Morganne has considerable experience advising corporations making labour market impact assessment (LMIA) applications and work permit applications under international agreements (such as CETA, CUSMA, and GATS) to facilitate the transfer and recruitment of workers from around the world. Morganne received her Juris Doctor from the University of New Brunswick. Prior to studying law at UNB, Morganne lived in St. John’s, NL for four years where she obtained a Bachelor of Science from Memorial University.
