Alberta has released the results of two recent Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) draws, inviting a combined 767 candidates for a provincial nomination.

On August 14, 2026, the AAIP invited 743 candidates under the Alberta Opportunity Stream, at a minimum Expression of Interest (EOI) score of 58. Days later, on August 19, 2026, the province issued 24 invitations to non-Express Entry candidates under the Dedicated Health Care Pathway, at a higher cut-off of 60 points.

With these rounds included, Alberta has invited 11,982 candidates through AAIP streams so far in 2026, against a total 2026 nomination allocation of 6,603 — a reminder that invitations to apply significantly outpace final nomination numbers, since not all ITAs convert to completed, approved applications.

Practitioner Implications

The Alberta Opportunity Stream continues to be the AAIP’s highest-volume pathway by a wide margin, and this round’s 58-point cut-off sits in the middle of the range Alberta has used throughout 2026 (roughly 50 to 65). Practitioners should continue advising Alberta Opportunity Stream candidates to treat any single cut-off as a snapshot rather than a benchmark, since the province does not publish a fixed draw calendar and EOI score is not the only factor considered.

The Dedicated Health Care Pathway draw is a further signal that healthcare remains one of AAIP’s core 2026 priority sectors, alongside technology, construction, manufacturing, aviation, and agriculture. Clients working in health authority or clinical roles in Alberta should be encouraged to keep EOI profiles current, particularly given the province’s newly added ability for candidates to edit a submitted Worker EOI.
