Manitoba’s Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held its largest draw of the year on May 7, 2026, issuing 906 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) in draw #270. The round was divided across two selection components: occupation-specific selection and strategic recruitment initiatives.

Occupation-Specific Selection

The 431 occupation-specific invitations targeted candidates with current employment in Manitoba across the following NOC 2021 unit groups:

41220 — Secondary school teachers 41221 — Elementary school and kindergarten teachers 42202 — Early childhood educators and assistants 43100 — Elementary and secondary school teacher assistants

Only candidates under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway with active employment in these roles were considered in this component.

Strategic Recruitment Initiatives

The 475 invitations issued under strategic recruitment initiatives were distributed across the following categories:

The TPP category — the Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates — accounted for the single largest share of the entire draw, with 429 of the 906 total LAAs. This marks a significant emphasis by Manitoba on transitioning TPP work permit holders toward nomination.

Both the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas pathways were eligible under the strategic recruitment initiative component. Importantly, skilled worker stream candidates were only considered in this draw if they were directly invited under a strategic recruitment initiative or held a TPP work permit.

Express Entry Linkage

Of the 906 LAAs issued, 326 went to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker validation code. Manitoba has now issued 480 Express Entry-linked nominations in 2026 to date.

2026 Year-to-Date

This draw was Manitoba’s ninth selection round of 2026. The province has now issued a total of 1,509 LAAs this year. Manitoba’s 2026 nomination allocation stands at 6,239.
